June 2008: Protein’eXpert is looking for a Biotechnology Engineer

Funded in 2000 in Grenoble, France, Protein’eXpert is an expanding Contract Research & Manufacturing Organisation devoted to recombinant protein engineering & production for biomedical research applications. Our 35-staff company offers custom-designed services focusing on the discovery, optimisation and production of valuable target or therapeutic proteins.
Recognised as a leading European player in the field of recombinant proteins manufacturing, Protein’eXpert possesses extensive expertise in protein expression, purification and folding in several expression systems (E. coli, yeast, insect cells, yeast and mammalian cell cultures).
Since 2004, Protein’eXpert has extended its offering to the biomanufacturing of therapeutic protein products for early clinical trials via its integrated subsidiary PX’Pharma. PX’Pharma provides dedicated contract services for process development & scale-up optimisation, pre-clinical and clinical cGMP production. The combination of Protein’eXpert and PX’Pharma know-how and manufacturing capacities allows ensuring a seamless transfer from therapeutic protein development up to clinical production stages.
Over the five past years, the company has demonstrated its capability to tackle highly complex and recalcitrant protein projects and take them to production stages. Protein’eXpert has indeed been working on more than 200 protein related projects, gathering expertise on various target and therapeutic proteins and building up effective technologies as well as superior management skills. With an export turnover of 50% in 2006, we intend to continue developing our international customers portfolio and plan to strengthen our global presence. 
Protein’eXpert complies with ISO 9000:2000 international quality standards. The PX’Pharma facility and equipment have been inspected by AFSSAPS (France) and comply with the French and European (EMEA) GMP guidelines.

Job offer
We are looking for a Biotechnology Engineer.
Under the supervision of project directors and in connection with scientific teams, you will significantly contribute to the project management and be responsible of the planning and organization of the experimental work with regards to objectives and milestones, the experimental execution and the written reporting of these activities.

Qualifications
• Engineer in biochemistry / biotechnology / bioprocess
• Technical expertise/experience in bacterial culture/fermentation, diafiltration, protein purification (biochemistry techniques,
   FPLC, HPLC...),
• General knowledge in Biochemistry and protein chemistry. Additional Knowledge in Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance
   especially in Good Manufacturing Practice will be an advantage,
• Ability to communicate information both spoken and written (elaboration of PowerPoint presentation and reports),
• Good spoken and written English,
• Self-working,
• Willing to work in a dynamic and fast paced SME environment.
